The Manhasset Concertino microphone stand

The Manhasset Concertino microphone stand combines the lightweight, collapsible design of the standard Manhasset microphone stand with a much lower working height, making it particularly well suited to seated musicians and instruments that need to be miked closer to floor level.

Adjustable from approximately 46 to 76cm, it is an excellent choice for cellists, seated wind and brass players, guitarists and other orchestral or ensemble applications where a conventional microphone stand can simply be too tall.

Despite weighing only around 1kg, the stable collapsible tripod base provides dependable support while remaining extremely easy to move, store and transport. A standard 5/8" microphone-holder thread makes it compatible with a wide range of suitable microphone clips and holders.

Designed for seated musicians

The Concertino's lower height range makes it particularly useful in orchestral and ensemble settings where microphones need to be positioned in front of seated musicians without a long stand extending unnecessarily above the instrument.

It works especially well with cellos, seated wind and brass players and other instruments that benefit from a microphone positioned closer to playing height.

Lightweight, stable and easy to transport

The collapsible tripod base provides excellent stability without the weight of a conventional solid microphone stand base. At only around 1kg, the Concertino is exceptionally easy to move between classrooms, rehearsal rooms, stages and performance spaces.

When the stand is no longer required, the tripod legs collapse to reduce its footprint for storage and transport, making it particularly practical for schools, ensembles and organisations managing larger quantities of equipment.

Concertino or standard microphone stand?

Both microphone stands use a lightweight collapsible tripod base and standard 5/8" microphone-holder thread. The important difference is height. Choose the Concertino for seated musicians, cellos, guitars and other low-level microphone applications, or the standard Manhasset microphone stand when a conventional 96 to 162cm working height is required.

Care and maintenance

Often, yes. Replacement parts are available for many models, and worn cosmetic finishes can sometimes be carefully prepared and refinished. Avoid altering working mechanisms in a way that could affect safety or warranty coverage.

Wipe the desk, shaft and base with a soft, slightly damp cloth, then dry them. Avoid abrasive cleaners, solvents and products that could damage the powder-coated finish or enter the clutch mechanism.

No. Do not apply oil or lubricant to the height-adjustment shaft, as this can reduce the holding power of the friction-grip clutch.

Check the carton and packing materials carefully, as small fixings can remain inside. Contact the supplying retailer promptly with the model and order details if anything is missing.

The tapered nut inside the shaft may have become unseated during transport. Fully compress the shaft, remove the base bolt, firmly tap the chrome end on a hard surface to reseat the nut, then reassemble and tighten the bolt.

Do not add lubricant to the outside of the shaft. Follow the model-specific troubleshooting instructions or contact Manhasset UK for guidance.

Choosing a stand

Selected models are available in a range of powder-coated colours, although UK availability varies. Custom colours may also be possible for larger projects, subject to quantity and lead time.

Standard Manhasset stands are robust but still manageable to carry between rooms. They are not designed to fold as small as a wire stand, so the Voyager with a foldable base, is the better choice for frequent travel.

Most floor stands arrive in a 3 sections: The base, shaft, and desk, and require straightforward assembly. The necessary fixings are supplied, and model-specific instructions are available.

The standard shaft is designed to support approximately 3.6 kg. For heavier applications, the optional Shaft-Lock increases the supported load to around 11.3 kg.

Yes. A Manhasset is ideal for musicians who want a stable stand that can remain set up and hold books, folders and sheet music securely. The Symphony is usually the best home model.
