Voyager music stand

The Manhasset Voyager portable music stand

The Voyager combines the portability of a folding music stand with the full-size solid desk and dependable construction expected from Manhasset. Designed for musicians who regularly travel between rehearsals, performances and teaching spaces, it offers a genuinely portable alternative to a traditional concert music stand without compromising on the desk itself.

The solid aluminium desk is the same size as the Manhasset Symphony desk, giving musicians a full 51 x 31.75cm surface for scores, folders and music books. Underneath, a collapsible tripod base folds down quickly for transport and storage.

For touring musicians, teachers, ensembles and schools that regularly move equipment between locations, the Voyager provides the familiarity and stability of a professional orchestral stand in a much more portable format.

Lifetime warranty logo

Covered by the Manhasset Lifetime Warranty

Manhasset music stands are built for long-term use and are backed by a Lifetime Warranty. It is important reassurance for musicians, schools and ensembles investing in a portable stand that may spend years travelling between rehearsals and performances.

The reason Manhasset can offer that reassurance is simple: these stands have been proven by musicians around the world for decades. Put simply, they do not break.

Warranty terms and conditions apply.

Need portable stands for a school or ensemble?

The Voyager is particularly useful for schools, music services and ensembles that regularly move stands between classrooms, rehearsal venues or performance spaces. The collapsible base makes transporting and storing multiple stands considerably easier while retaining a proper concert-style music desk.

For larger requirements, the Voyager Stand box of 6 offers great value when purchasing multiple stands together.

Music stand desk with music book and violin bow

A full-size desk that travels

Unlike many portable music stands, the Voyager does not rely on a small folding or wire desk. It uses the same full-size solid aluminium desk as the Symphony, measuring approximately 51 x 31.75cm with a generous 5.7cm deep ledge.

There is plenty of room for large scores, folders and music books, and the desk can support up to 4kg of music. It gives travelling musicians the working space of a professional concert music stand rather than asking them to compromise for the sake of portability.

Collapsible and easy to store

The Voyager's tripod base collapses into a compact shape for transport, while a simple twist-lock mechanism allows the desk to be detached from the stand in seconds.

That leaves just two main parts to transport: the solid music desk and the folded base and shaft assembly. A dedicated Voyager carrying bag is also available separately, making it an excellent choice for musicians who regularly take their own stand to rehearsals, concerts and gigs.

Knob-free height adjustment

The Voyager retains Manhasset's famous knob-free adjustment system. The Magic Finger Clutch allows the desk to be raised or lowered simply by moving it into position, without needing to loosen or tighten an adjustment knob.

The friction-tilt neck allows the desk angle to be changed just as easily before holding it securely in place. The desk ledge adjusts from approximately 66 to 122cm above the floor, giving the Voyager the same versatile working height as the Symphony.

Person conducting a full orchestra using Manhasset stands

Portable without compromising on strength

The Voyager has been designed to make a professional concert music stand easier to transport, rather than simply making everything lighter and less substantial.

Its solid aluminium desk provides the rigidity needed for heavier scores and folders, while the collapsible base remains stable when opened for use. It is a particularly good choice for musicians who want the practicality of a portable stand but would rather not use a conventional lightweight folding music stand.

Hills and fields of Yakima Washington

Made in Yakima, Washington

Manhasset has been manufacturing music stands since 1935 and has been based in Yakima, Washington since the early 1940s. The Voyager applies the same focus on straightforward engineering, quality materials and durability to a stand designed specifically for musicians on the move.

It brings together one of Manhasset's most recognisable features, the full-size solid music desk, with a collapsible base designed for performers who cannot leave their stand permanently in one place.

Voyager or Symphony?

The Voyager and Symphony use the same full-size solid aluminium desk and offer the same familiar Manhasset height and angle adjustment. The important difference is the base. Choose the Voyager if portability and compact storage are priorities, or the Symphony for a traditional concert music stand intended to remain assembled.

Yes. The Voyager uses the same full-sized solid desk as the Symphony, measuring approximately 20 inches by 12.5 inches with a 2.25-inch ledge.

The Voyager is larger and heavier, but it offers a solid desk, smoother adjustment and much greater stability. It is a better choice when performance and durability matter more than minimum packed size.

The desk releases from the shaft using a twist-lock connector, leaving just two main sections to carry. The tripod base also closes for transport.

Yes. The Voyager Concertino uses the portable Voyager design with a lower height range of approximately 41 to 71 cm, making it suitable for seated musicians on the move.

Yes. It is designed for players who travel regularly but do not want to rely on a lightweight wire stand or sacrifice a solid music desk.

The Voyager uses an approximately 51 x 32 cm desk, adjusts from about 66 to 122 cm from floor to ledge and weighs around 3.4 kg, or 7.5 lb.

The Voyager is a portable concert-style stand for musicians who want Manhasset stability and a solid desk in a design that is easier to transport.

Often, yes. Replacement parts are available for many models, and worn cosmetic finishes can sometimes be carefully prepared and refinished. Avoid altering working mechanisms in a way that could affect safety or warranty coverage.

Wipe the desk, shaft and base with a soft, slightly damp cloth, then dry them. Avoid abrasive cleaners, solvents and products that could damage the powder-coated finish or enter the clutch mechanism.

No. Do not apply oil or lubricant to the height-adjustment shaft, as this can reduce the holding power of the friction-grip clutch.

Check the carton and packing materials carefully, as small fixings can remain inside. Contact the supplying retailer promptly with the model and order details if anything is missing.

The tapered nut inside the shaft may have become unseated during transport. Fully compress the shaft, remove the base bolt, firmly tap the chrome end on a hard surface to reseat the nut, then reassemble and tighten the bolt.

Do not add lubricant to the outside of the shaft. Follow the model-specific troubleshooting instructions or contact Manhasset UK for guidance.

Selected models are available in a range of powder-coated colours, although UK availability varies. Custom colours may also be possible for larger projects, subject to quantity and lead time.

Yes. Manhasset stands are widely used in orchestras, theatres, studios, rehearsal rooms and concert venues because they provide a stable, dependable surface for music.

Standard Manhasset stands are robust but still manageable to carry between rooms. They are not designed to fold as small as a wire stand, so the Voyager with a foldable base is the better choice for frequent travel.

Yes. Their stable bases, simple one-handed adjustment and robust construction make them particularly well suited to classrooms, rehearsal rooms, ensembles and music departments.

Most floor stands arrive in three sections: The base, shaft, and desk, and require straightforward assembly. The necessary fixings are supplied, and model-specific instructions are available.

The shaft uses Manhasset's Magic Finger Clutch, allowing the desk to be raised or lowered with a simple push or pull. The friction-tilt neck holds the desk securely at the chosen angle without a separate tightening knob.

The standard shaft is designed to support approximately 3.6 kg. For heavier applications, the optional Shaft-Lock increases the supported load to around 11.3 kg.

Yes. A Manhasset is ideal for musicians who want a stable stand that can remain set up and hold books, folders and sheet music securely. The Symphony is usually the best home model.

A concert-style stand has a solid desk and a stable floor base rather than a folding wire frame. It is designed for regular rehearsal and performance use, with greater support for music and books.

Manhasset stands use a solid desk, a strong welded base and smooth knob-free adjustment. They are designed for stability and years of regular use, rather than folding into the smallest possible package.

The Symphony is the best all-round choice. Choose the Harmony when compact storage is important, the Voyager for regular travel, the Orchestral for a built-in accessory shelf, or one of the wider conductor models for large and multi-page scores.

If a fault is accepted as covered by the warranty, Manhasset may choose to repair or replace the defective product without charge to the original purchaser.

It allows the desk angle to be changed smoothly and held in position without loosening and retightening a separate handle.

Many classic models use a lightweight tempered aluminium desk that combines rigidity with manageable weight. Specialist models may use materials such as durable ABS or clear polycarbonate.
